I am 28 and just getting in a wisdom tooth…does it always hurt like this? Pain relief?

Does the pain mean I will have to have it pulled, or will the pain eventually go away? It just started hurting last night, I thought I had food stuck in my molars or something, but realized it was a tooth breaking through the gums. It hurts to open my mouth, talk, chew…is this normal?
